IntegrityBC points out that the rate increases will disproportionally fall on lower-income British Columbians, those on fixed incomes, and all those living paycheque to paycheque. Many families in B.C. are voicing that they are already stretched to the breaking point by some of Canada's highest housing and child care costs, transit rates and insurance premiums and will find little fiscal room to take on increased BC Hydro rates.
