You are invited to the grand opening event for the Scorpions Beach Volleyball Sand Court Complex launch in Cambridge, Ontario. The grand opening is a celebration of the completion of the building of five new sand courts. With no prior viable sand courts available to youth volleyball players, the new sand courts are a welcome addition to the community.
The Scorpions Youth Volleyball Club has opened an invitation to the general public to come out and play volleyball or tchoukball on the new courts Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 10:00am- 4:00pm. Opening ceremonies take place at 12:30pm and there will be prizes given away. The location is Cambridge Vineyard, 147 Elgin Street North, Cambridge.
The club has raised and spent $28,000 building the new courts and will get lots of use out of them. The club has registered over 325 youth beach volleyball players in their summer program and has programs available for beach and indoor volleyball for boys and girls. The completion of the building of the new sports infrastructure will help to promote physical activity for the youth of Cambridge and the surrounding areas while helping to build the skills of local and provincial players.
“It is a dream come true for me. The building of these courts has allowed us to bring beach volleyball to the youth in Cambridge. This open house will give the people of Cambridge and surrounding area a chance to play on our courts and a chance for the club to say thank you to the people who have helped us build these courts.”
