Night Shift: Body Language
October 5, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC invites you to Night Shift: Body Language on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 8pm. This next installment of MOA’s monthly cabaret party will feature Japanese master calligrapher Kimura Tsubasa performing her large-scale brush calligraphy, set to the improvisatory music of award-winning cellist Marina Hasselberg.
Taiwan’s Assembly Dance Theatre will show you how to write with your body through an interactive performance inspired by calligraphy. Daniel Conrad and Karissa Barry will also treat you to Cup of Wine, a film and dance performance set to the lyrics of classical Chinese poetry. Grab a drink and test out your new dance moves with a live show by DJ-sitar duo Jamadic!
Admission $10. Free Admission for UBC Students + Staff, MOA Members, and Indigenous Peoples. For more information, visit: moa.ubc.ca/nightshift
