The healthiest fish you can eat in my opinion are the smaller, wild, sustainably harvested ones like sardines, anchovies, mackerel, bluefish, fresh pollock, whiting, flounder, porgies and then squid, mussels, shellfish.
The opioid pandemic death count continues to rise. Canada will exceed 4000 deaths to opioids in 2017. Normalizing opioids will deliver the second crisis - a broken health care system. The Institute for Smarter Government presented to Waterloo Regional Council March 21 at a special public meeting on safe injection sites. If there is a community in Canada that can help reduce the effects of the opioid pandemic it is Waterloo Region.
In an open letter to Postmedia CEO Paul Godfrey (posted below), and copied to the editors of the Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen and National Post, WSO President Mukhbir Singh expressed his concern at recent coverage of the Sikh community in Postmedia newspapers. The Sikh community has been disappointed by recent opinion pieces making harmful generalizations and stereotypes about the community, including the argument that Sikhs are "overrepresented" in Canada's democracy and asking readers to "reflect on whether the inordinate influence the [Sikhs] now enjoy is good for democracy.”
What makes LNG Canada think they can do what Petronas decided not to do, and I noticed that in announcing the joint venture between Shell, PetroChina Company, Korea Gas Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation, Andy Calitz, CEO of LNG Canada, said the consortium would work closely with the provincial and federal governments but made absolutely no mention of even considering the people of BC either aboriginal or settlers.
